Also known as a nose job, rhinoplasty can be a life-changing surgery. Conservative adjustments to the size, shape and angles of your nose can balance your features and deliver a major boost in confidence.
Dr. Reinblatt's rhinoplasty procedure is ideal for men and women who desire:
Conservative, natural-looking results
More balanced facial features
Improved facial symmetry
A smaller, smoother and more attractive nose
The changes Dr. Reinblatt makes to your nose will depend on your cosmetic goals. In general, her patients request a custom blend of the following adjustments:
Narrow the nose. A nose that's too wide can make your face appear unbalanced. Rhinoplasty can narrow the bridge and create pleasing proportions.
Remove a hump. A nasal hump is a very common cosmetic complaint. These humps can vary widely in size and are often addressed during rhinoplasty procedures.
Refine the tip. A bulbous, drooping or overly large tip is an issue many patients would like to address. In fact, some rhinoplasty surgeries exclusively involve refining the nasal tip and leaving the rest of the nose untouched.
When undergoing a rhinoplasty, you have two incision options: open or closed.
In general, the closed technique is preferred by most patients. All incisions are made inside the nose, so there is no external scarring. With this approach, Dr. Reinblatt has the ability to make most requested changes to the nasal structure.
An open rhinoplasty provides Dr. Reinblatt with greater access to the underlying cartilage and bone, but there is some scarring. It involves creating an incision in the columella (the cartilage separating the two nostrils). This is the ideal option if very refined changes need to be made to the nasal tip.
Dr. Reinblatt will perform your nose job under general anesthesia. After making the incisions, she will carefully lift the nasal skin to remove and reshape key areas of tissue, bone and cartilage. All of her adjustments will be conservative to ensure an organic surgical outcome.
Once your nose has been reshaped, Dr. Reinblatt will drape the skin over the new contours and close the incisions. She will then place a splint and insert gauze or nasal packing to promote proper healing.
It can take up to a year for the results of your nose job to emerge.
Immediately after your procedure, swelling and bruising can obscure the new appearance of your nose. These effects should subside in about two weeks, at which point you will see a marked improvement. However, your nose will still require several more months to settle into its final shape.
